Canoe tour on the Lahn

Tour description

This challenging adventure tour takes you from the historic town of Wetzlar, through the tranquil small town of Leun, as well as a boat slide, a roller conveyor and four locks to Weilburg to the Lahn bridge Ahausen. Enjoy the historical buildings of Wetzlar, such as the cathedral, the old Lahn Bridge and the castle ruins of Kalsmunt from the water. On the way you can have a lunch break at the youth campsite.  Afterwards you continue past a dense flora and fauna, the contemplative places of Selters and Löhnberg to Weilburg to the Lahn bridge Ahausen. Please expect a paddle time of 6.5 hours plus pause. We recommend this 28.5 km only to experienced paddlers.

Passenger transport

Public

Canoe ticket: €3.60 per person each trip.

If you prefer to use the train, the station Weilburg (Löhnberger Weg/Bahnhofstrasse, 35781 Weilburg) is 15 minutes walk from the destination Ahäuser Bridge. Wetzlar Station (Willy-Brandt-Platz, 35576 Wetzlar) is also a 15-minute walk from the canoeing station in Wetzlar. Buy your ticket at public transport or order your Canoe ticket. In any case you can buy the canoe ticket before or after your tour at the campsite in Wetzlar. Nevertheless, on such short distances the normal daily prices of public transport are usually cheaper. Therefore please compare the prices.

Shuttle

Bus start at 17:20 am from Ahäuser Bridge to Wetzlar
€7 per adult from 12 years
€6 per teenager 15-17 years
€5 per child up to 14 years

At 17:20 you can take our shuttle bus back to your car in Wetzlar. During the tour, your car parks about 300 meters away from the canoeing station in a free public car park. Furthermore, we offer you to park your car for €2.20 a day at the campsite wetzlar. The bus trips are operated by a local bus company on behalf of Kanu Lahn-Dill. This is Not to a public bus. You can order the ticket during the booking of the boats. Book your ticket early in advance, so you can start the day relaxed.
