Canoe tour on the Saar

Tour description

At the beginning of the individual tour you cross the Saar and paddle a short part into the Leuk. After a short time you can reach the 18 m high inner-city waterfall. Then it goes downstream through the magnificent wine region to Schoden. Here you can take a break and start the most beautiful Saar section, the Wiltinger Saarbogen. Over a few easy rapids you paddle through the nature reserve, which offers a habitat for many birds and plants living in and on the water. At the watergate in Kanzem, the boats have to be placed on a canoe trolley and come back in the water in the Saarkanal. After 3 km you reach the wine-grower village Schoden again.

For many paddlers, the protected Wiltinger Saarbogen with its small waves is the most beautiful section of the Saar river. On the way you pass beautiful river flora with water lilies, reeds and wide floodplains with willow oaks and ash trees. Many animals live in and on the water, e.g. Kingfishers. The weir in Kanzem offers a perfect spot for a break. Through the Saarkanal you can make your way back to Schoden. 

All canoe tours are without a canoe-guide and are not accompanied by us.

Shuttle service of the canoes are included in the price, but no transfer of persons.
