Canoe Tour on the Örtze
On the Örtze there are many ways to make your paddle tour. For example, the tour Hermannsburg – Eversen offers a perfect beginner section. The Örtze rises north of Munster and flows after 54 kilometers, at Winsen, into the Aller. As the largest river in the Lüneburg Südheide, it has a relatively strong gradient with a flow of about 0.70 meters per second and a water depth of 0.5 to 2 meters. Due to its higher flow rate, curvy sections and partly low branches, the Örtze is more difficult for canoeists than the Aller and is not recommended for small children, for example.

The Örtze is part of the European Nature Conservation Network "Natura 2000", which is under special protection under the "Flora-Fauna-Habitat"-directive. For this reason, the river has strict rules for paddling and is only paddlable on special sections from 16 May to 14 October.
Its spectacular course through landscapes and historic villages in the nature Park Südheide has already impressed the poet Hermann Löns more than 100 years ago, so that he even devoted the river its own chapter.
On request we also rent our boats, recommended for younger groups of students on the Heidesee in Tired (Örtze).
We will gladly arrange for you the concessional transfer by bus or taxi to/from the boat jetty or the place of your choice.
